Ron Hanchar, MBA, ICE-CCP
Ron Hanchar brings over three decades of leadership in certification, licensure, and accreditation to HCS. His career has spanned executive director, director, and program management roles across some of the largest and most influential credentialing organizations in the United States.
Accreditation & Certification Expertise
Ron has guided multiple organizations through the full cycle of third-party accreditation, obtaining and maintaining compliance with both NCCA and ISO/IEC 17024 standards. He has also worked directly with ANSI/ISO 9001 processes. His experience includes serving as a contracted NCCA administrative reviewer for certification applications and annual reports, and as an ISO 17024 auditor for ICE/IAS.
Program Management Background
Over the course of his career, Ron has led certification programs generating tens of millions in annual revenue, overseeing operations, governance, and test development for programs testing anywhere from 100 to more than 100,000 candidates per year. His leadership has extended across health care, nursing, project management, cyber forensics, pharmacy, and allied health certifications.
Key leadership roles include:
- Executive Director, National Board of Medication Therapy Management (NBMTM) – Overseeing the BCMTMS certification and all association operations.
- Executive Director, Allied Health Certifications, National Healthcareer Association (NHA) / National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) – Oversaw 10 certification programs and four governing boards.
- Senior Certification Program Manager, Department of Defense (via CSC) – Developed and aligned DoD’s Cyber Forensic credentials with ISO 17024 accreditation requirements.
- Director of Certification, American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) – Managed certification operations across ~30 programs with $13M annual revenue.
- Director of Certification, Project Management Institute (PMI) – Oversaw the PMP® and related credentials, managing exams for 100,000 candidates annually with $80M revenue.
- Director of Certification, American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) – Directed RHIA, RHIT, CCS, and privacy/security credentials.
- Director of Competency Assessment, National Association of Boards of Pharmacy – Led NAPLEX, MPJE, FPGEE, and DSM credentialing exams.

Josh Hanchar
Josh Hanchar brings a modern, systems-driven perspective to credentialing, combining technology expertise with hands-on certification operations. With more than 20 years as an educator, he translates complex accreditation requirements into clear, actionable guidance for subject matter experts, candidates, and client teams. Since joining HCS in 2020, he has supported clients in designing, maintaining, and elevating certification programs to meet the highest standards of accreditation.
Credentialing & Accreditation Experience
Josh has led item development projects, facilitated structured item review sessions with subject matter experts, and contributed to successful NCCA and ISO/IEC 17024 accreditation applications and renewals. He has represented HCS at ICE Exchange conferences, engaging with the credentialing community and staying current on emerging standards and best practices.
Leadership & Collaboration
Beyond technical work, Josh served as Interim Chief Operations Officer for the National Board of Medication Therapy Management (NBMTM), guiding account recovery, governance alignment, and process documentation. He also engineered Windows-based electronic Candidate Review Guide applications for the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP), modernizing how candidates engage with study materials. At HCS, he collaborates closely with Ron Hanchar to pair deep certification expertise with modern tools and strategies.
Technology & Systems Thinking
As founder of Present Day Media, LLC, Josh designs software platforms and apps that simplify complex workflows. He brings that product-minded approach to HCS—building integrated, automated systems that make compliance practical, efficient, and sustainable. His background in software development, media production, and IT gives him a wide-angle view where technical efficiency and professional standards reinforce each other.
